The British Monarchists Society

The British Monarchists Society Ltd. is the premier monarchist organisation of the United Kingdom. The British Monarchists brand continues to grow in name, as a movement and is further welcoming many new members and patrons alike into the cause to “Support Tradition, Promote Heritage, Defend the Crown and Advance Education”. The Society has a very strong underlying emphasis on education, which includes working with individuals, organisations and the government to promote, foster and expand further education about the Crown and its Constitutional roles/functions within our modern Parliamentary Democracy.

In subscribing to the mentality of promoting education, we are able to cumulatively make a great contribution to the lasting legacy of the Monarchy itself on behalf of the people of this great nation through funding educational programmes and related projects. In our desire to further promote the work of the Crown, the British Monarchists Society was conceived and launched to help meet the needs of growing British and international charities which matter to the people of not only the United Kingdom but the world. Many charities are championed by Her Majesty and the Royal family, to which duty, commitment and a lasting legacy for future generations, is what the British Monarchists Society strives to build on with our support of those in need. As education and charity have always been at the forefront of our cause, the British Monarchists Society will allow any money raised from our commercial enterprising to be donated directly to our educational causes within the British Monarchists Society.

You can become involved in making a difference for Crown and Country by becoming a member of the British Monarchists Society. In launching the BMS, we have devised new levels of membership, which makes membership affordable and attractive to all financial positions. Each tier of membership allows supporters to choose their level of interaction with the Society, based on the tier of membership they purchase.

About Us

The British Monarchists Society is a stand-alone entity (company), to which commercial enterprise for the British Monarchist brand is undertaken.  The British Monarchist family has created a unique equation to which the Society operates, carrying out business and constructing a world-class membership scheme on behalf of its members. The British Monarchists Society was established several years ago and became an official company during the year of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee in 2012. The Society originally came about as an educated and popular response to the rising tide of republicanism within the United Kingdom, which had gone largely unquestioned and unbalanced.

Originating as a Facebook group and then evolving into a book club, the organisation grew and its members and supporters of the British Monarchy took to the “British Monarchist” brand. The need eventually came for a fundamental review and overhaul of the operations of the Society, which led to the evolution of the British Monarchist brand, the implementation of charitable giving, and the addition of several other entities, which have seen the need for the Society change from a simple social grouping of like-minded peoples, to the functioning trading arm and innovative think-tank of the British Monarchist brand of companies.

Before being assigned an elevated purpose and function within the British Monarchist brand, the British Monarchist Society was a NON-PROFIT-MAKING volunteer organisation comprised of several groups of members hailing from all regions of the United Kingdom and abroad that consisted of monarchists, royalists, and their supporters, as well as various other groups of people that realise and understand the importance of the Monarchy in a modern British state. The member base supported the cause to defend the integrity of the Crown, the Monarchy and more importantly our Most Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II, from groups and organisations with strong Republican agendas, ties, and backgrounds whom seek to alter Britain as we have known it to exist for centuries; in favour of a republic, which will ultimately bring less stability to the peoples of our great nation. Members of the British Monarchist Society believe in our history, our present, and our future, as a Constitutional Monarchy and therefore support the many causes which fall under the British Monarchist brand.

Those who belong to the Society stand as a single body, United (regardless of political party affiliation) in our efforts to defend our cause, which is to protect, honour, and serve our Monarch from the imminent dangers of a hostile and unstable radical Republican agenda. We seek to preserve and protect our history and system of governance, whilst striving through this site to bring those individuals who are educated as to how the government and the crown work together to the forefront, to further support and teach the importance of the role of our Monarchy to the future generations of Britain, that will shape our future as we move into the 21st century.

The British Monarchists Society is registered with Companies House as well as HMRC with a V.A.T. number.

Our Aims

  1. The British Monarchists Society seeks to Support Tradition, Promote Heritage, Defend the Crown and Advanced Education, in which we are dedicated to promoting and fostering education growth throughout the United Kingdom and the Realms. We seek to inspire the children of tomorrow through their education today. In embracing these ideas together with our heritage and culture through education, the BMS is investing in our future throughout our brotherhood of nations for a brighter and more learned future for us all.

  2. We aim to provide a voice for monarchists in the media and elsewhere – and in doing so fill a silent void that has existed over many decades. This will include representing monarchists in the media – such as on radio broadcasts and television debates. We endeavour to proudly represent monarchists and provide an active campaign in favour of Constitutional Monarchy and against republicanism.

  3. We aim to challenge the media and to combat fallacies, misrepresentation and misreporting of the Royal Family and the Monarchy. We will campaign against bias and inaccurate reporting that is propagated by a Republican minority.

  4. We contact and lobby Members of Parliament, Her Majesty’s Government, Councils and other Officials as part of our campaign in order to ensure that the importance of our Monarchy to the nation is fully recognised.

  5. We will challenge ignorance and misinformation about Constitutional Monarchy through education. This will include informative articles by our executives and members, a formal education programme and the dispelling of inaccurate republican propaganda.

  6. We provide a community for people interested in our Monarchy, its history and its place in a modern state. As well as serving as a forum for monarchists to congregate and share their interest to be a part of the campaign, we further hold meetings and events to mark special occasions and celebrate our national heritage.

  7. We keep supporters up-to-date with recent Royal events and developments and highlight the invaluable service of the Royal Family to our country in all aspects of society, philanthropy, and the Military.

  8. We will promote the value of the Realms and Commonwealth nations along with the close relationship they enjoy with the United Kingdom. The BMS is a part of a wider and growing community of organisations across the Commonwealth Realms that campaign in favour of constitutional monarchy.

Our Beliefs

We believe in a system of government that is not strictly politically based, which is anchored by a monarch, whereas under a strictly political system we will never be one people; divided by our politics and partisan ideals. A Monarch placed in a Constitutional Monarchy weaves together the fibres of our society in a politically neutral atmosphere, thus providing the fabric which has become our nation.

We believe that we are one people under our Monarch regardless of party affiliation, colour, gender, religion, etc. As one people we honour and respect those institutions that have shaped our history and have made us equal under the crown, sharing one history, one nation, one future, and most of all one Monarch. Our civic duty to our nation is to be informed and educated about our government, its workings, its components, and its atmosphere; to never be complacent such as we as a nation have become.

We believe that complacency has led to a weakening of the very institutions that we as a nation identify with and have depended on to see us through the good and bad times we have endured. Now is the time to re-energise ourselves, to rediscover our roots, and learn again what is so unique and special about us as a people, as a government and as a nation. Now is the time to stand up and vocalise that our Monarch is the one who exemplifies who we are as a people, what we believe in, and what we feel like a united nation.

We believe that our Monarch is the personification of the State, an example for us all to follow. In our endeavour to educate people about the importance and relevance of the Monarchy in our modern society, the British Monarchist Society can further help preserve and protect the institution of Constitutional Monarchy from any further decay, where future generations of Britons can understand, enjoy and be proud of our greatest institution. For centuries the outside world has seen Britain as a model of government, culture and society. Other countries have fashioned their governments and courts after ours, retained our Monarch as their Head of State, fashioned their cities and infrastructures using us as a model, and have retained English as their official languages when they had others to choose from.

We believe that we have influenced the globe throughout our history. We have stood alone in our darkest days where we as a people banded together to fight a common enemy. In the dark, we turned to our sovereign to lift our spirits and light our lives, wherein the light our sovereign is the pinnacle of national mood and feeling. As time has passed, we are now identified with Big Ben, red phone boxes, and black taxis, along with other notable landmarks, but none as important or colourful as our Monarchy.

Our History

In 2012 The British Monarchist Society became an officially registered company after several years of operating as an online forum for monarchists with an interest in the British Crown. The formation of the company was the result of a thought, which evolved through the years into a well-developed idea that eventually grew into a tangible organisation originally named the British Monarchist Society. In 2015 the addition of a separate entity, the British Monarchist Foundation was added to the British Monarchists family. Now as of 2019, both entities have been combined into one, promoting education about the Monarchy as well as undertaking an education programme. The creation of the British Monarchists Society (Members) Ltd. incorporates the original purpose of the British Monarchist Society as well as the charitable giving practices the British Monarchist Foundation was created to undertake. The British Monarchists Society [Members] Ltd. is the result of the combination of both the educational and charitable entities.

The Founder, Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills, originally operated the British Monarchist Society as a virtual platform on Facebook for people to come together and share their thoughts and ideas about the British monarchy. For several years this virtual organisation was successful before he finally created the Limited by Guarantee Company in the year of Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee (2012). His idea to bring the defence and support of the Palace into the forefront of an overwhelmingly silent majority within the United Kingdom was met with much enthusiasm from Politicians, Celebrities and supporters of the Monarchy alike.

2012
British Monarchist Society - Companies House: 08116712
British Monarchist Society Established

The British Monarchist Society was originally established over a decade ago and matriculated into an official company in April of 2012. The Society came about as an educated and popular response to the rising tide of republicanism with in the United Kingdom, which had gone largely unquestioned and unbalanced. It has been well known for a long time that the Palace does not defend itself, and this is something that the Founder thought needed to change for the greater good and existence of the institution. In understanding the reasoning of the Palace to often remain silent when being attacked, it was Thomas Mace-Archer-Mills who decided that a voice for the silent majority must be projected loud and clear, which prompted him to create the British Monarchist brand as it exists today. As the British Monarchist Society grew and supporters of the Monarchy took to the “British Monarchists” brand, the need eventually came for a fundamental review of, and overhaul too, the operations of the Society, which led to the evolution of the British Monarchists brand, the implementation of a charity and the addition of several other entities, which saw the need for the Society to change from a social grouping of like-minded peoples to the functioning trading arm of the British Monarchists Brand.

2015
British Monarchist Foundation - Companies House: 09160125
British Monarchist Foundation Established

The British Monarchist Foundation existed to advance such general charitable purposes (according to the law of England and Wales) as the Trustees saw fit from time to time. The Foundation also had a particular interest in, but not limited to, advancing the education of the general public, in particular young people, through the donation of resources to establishments of an educational nature and by making grants and awards to students, where appropriate, in full or part-time education. The British Monarchist Foundation also made grants to general charitable organisations (through application) within the scope of the Foundation if approved by the Trustees. The British Monarchist Foundation was instrumental in sending educational tools to primary and secondary schools throughout the United Kingdom as well as Canada and America, which continues under the British Monarchist Society (Members) Ltd.

2019
The British Monarchists Society (Members) Ltd., Companies House: 11874245
The British Monarchists Society (Members) Ltd.

The British Monarchists Society (Members) Ltd. [BMS], replaced the original company created in 2012, as the aims and actions, as well as the Society's founding Directors had advanced and changed since creation. To meet the needs of an ever widening membership base, and the specific changes to the educational component to the organisation, The British Monarchists Society (Members) Ltd. was created. Like each component of the British Monarchists family, the BMS is a volunteer organisation comprised of several members hailing from all regions of the United Kingdom, the Realms, and abroad, that realise and understand the importance of the Monarchy in a modern British State. The member base supports the cause to defend the integrity of the Crown, the Monarchy and more importantly our Most Sovereign Lady Queen Elizabeth II, from groups and organisations with strong republican agendas, ties and backgrounds who seek to destroy Britain as we have known it to exist for centuries; in favour of a republic that will eventually bring less stability to the peoples of our great nation. Our members believe in our history, our present, and our future, as a Constitutional Monarchy.

Those belonging to the BMS, as British Monarchists, stand as a single body, united (regardless of political party affiliation) in our efforts to defend our cause, which is to protect, honour, and serve our Monarch, The Queen, from the imminent dangers of a hostile and unstable radical republican agenda. We seek to preserve and protect our history and system of governance, whilst striving through this organisation to bring those individuals who are educated in how the government and the Crown work together to the forefront, to further support and teach the importance of the role of our Monarchy to the future generations of Britain, that will shape our future as we move into the 21st century.

The British Monarchists Society continues to advance education and make donations through educational tools to primary and secondary schools. From time to time, the BMS continues to attend debates, hold lectures, and further contribute to educational talks and presentations when asked. The organisation continues to excel in the areas of charitable, community and social giving as the British Monarchist Society and British Monarchist Foundation did before. Creating this organisation out of the two previous entities mentioned, we are able to fulfil all of our commitments within the structure of one new patriotic and educational organisation. Today, the British Monarchists Society is the leading name and marketing arm/company of the British Monarchists family.

The Monarchists United (DBA The Monarchists)

The Monarchists has been created to build off of the success of the British Monarchists Society in providing a global forum for monarchists to unite under one banner of monarchism. Where there is an existing society, league, or club that needs help, or a group of monarchists that need direction, The Monarchists  is there to extend a hand of friendship, provide help and understanding, as well as foster relationships between monarchist groups across the planet.

The Monarchists is a stand alone company/entity which currently sees cooperation alongside the British Monarchists Society and its American Branch, but also has its own foothold within New Zealand and other Realm nations. The purpose of The Monarchists is quite simple, to unite the monarchist cause under one banner, hence the name: The Monarchists United. With help from the BMS, and affiliates such as The Australian Monarchist League, The Monarchists will continue to establish a presence and a uniting front within the Realm nations of the Commonwealth first before venturing out to other nations which may be republics, to include and bring into the fold those who like Monarchy and may otherwise feel left out and ostracised living within a republic that does not reflect their beliefs in modern government.

Our Mascot 'Roary'

The British Monarchists Society created “Roary” as its mascot during the Diamond Jubilee of Her Majesty, the Queen in 2012. Roary encompasses the ethos of the society, its members, and its overall mission, which is to support and defend the monarchy as well as the traditions, history and education associated with it. There are many symbols pertaining to the composition of the mascot of the society, as Roary takes the form of a lion, one of the many known English symbols within both British history and heraldic terminology. Roary symbolises the might and majesty of England, from which the British monarchy was born: represented by the lion. The crown which sits upon the Roary’s head is the symbol of the British Crown, but designed in a specific way that represents the society itself within its company logo and its overall position within public life.

Roary appears with an open mouth, sounding off to those around him, which reflects the actions of the British Monarchists Society in championing the defence of, and education about the British monarchy. Roary is quick to defend and explain, whilst educate and help the public understand the institution of constitutional monarchy within the modern 21st century. Notice the colour of Roary – purple. Purple is the known international colour of Royalty, and as such reflects the overall theme of the society and it’s mascot in their endeavour to support the hereditary system of constitutional monarchy within the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth Realms. Roary appears strong, well groomed, regal, and majestic – all attributes the society reflects in its mission to uphold and defend the principles of the British Monarchy.
