A Statement From Our Founder

on the death of BMS Patron and BMS Founding Parliamentarian

Sir David Amess MP

“Sir David Amess was the Founding Patron of the British Monarchists Society and the primary sponsor of The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Statue 2022 and Trust. We as a Society mourn the passing of such a dedicated and loyal individual, who was a great supporter of The Crown as well as the duty and grace Her Majesty has always brought to her role as Queen of not only this, but 15 other nations.  Our thoughts and prayers are with Lady Amess and the family of our friend, colleague, patron, and supporter. Sir David was a committed and caring man who was united with our movement in advancing education about The Crown and the institution of Monarchy. Not only was he hard working and caring about his constituents, he was also very much a friend to those on both sides of the political divide. We here at the British Monarchists Society are terribly sad for the loss our Core Patron and founding Parliamentarian. We are ever more saddened that we have lost one of our own, a friend, confident, and mentor who helped make this organisation what it is. The British Monarchists Society joins the nation in mourning this sad and senseless loss.”
