Queen states poverty is being ignored – 15th March 2014
The Queen said that poverty is being ignored and more could be done to fight it. In a rare political statement Her Majesty, 87, made the comments on a visit to Royal Holloway, University of London in Egham, Surrey. She told one academic: “Poor people and their problems don’t get reported often, and they need all the assistance they can be given.” Geography Professor David Simon revealed the Queen’s words after chatting to her about the recent floods chaos in England. Thomas Mace Archer-Mills, chairman of the British Monarchist Society, said: “The Queen wouldn’t be in the position she’s in if she didn’t care about her people…
