Queen states poverty is being ignored – 15th March 2014

The Queen said that poverty is being ignored and more could be done to fight it. In a rare political statement Her Majesty, 87, made the comments on a visit to Royal Holloway, University of London in Egham, Surrey. She told one academic: “Poor people and their problems don’t get reported often, and they need all the ­assistance they can be given.” Geography Professor David Simon revealed the Queen’s words after chatting to her about the recent floods chaos in England.
