Subject: BMS to no longer report on Duke and Duchess of Sussex

*START*

The British Monarchists Society will continue to refrain from reporting on, or publishing materials/articles, about The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Continuing an organisational decision made last year shortly after the Royal couple decided to step down from duties as Senior working royals, and relocated to America, the Society polled it membership, friends, and supporters via social media to gauge the thoughts and feelings of our supporters. As a year has now expired, the Society once again polled its membership, friends, and supporters via Facebook poll on 22 May 2021, to query as to if the organisation’s policy of not reporting on The Duke and Duchess of Sussex was still viable. A renewed influx of questions asking why the BMS does not report on the Duke and Duchess of Sussex prompted the new poll.

Out of 11,452 respondents to the poll, 456 commented on the question: “Would you like to see the BMS include reports on our newsfeed about The Duke and Duchess of Sussex?”. An overwhelming majority indicated that they wish for the BMS to continue its policy of not reporting on The Duke and Duchess of Sussex. As the Sussexes have decided to step down as working members of the Royal family, and have further implicated that they will not be coming back to the United Kingdom anytime soon, the British Monarchists Society has chosen to follow the recommendation of its membership, and will continue a moratorium on any and all information, posts, and/or reports dealing with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Despite recent events which have seen to be less than favourable towards the overall image of The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and the way the Royal family has been treated, The British Monarchists Society is of the impression that “recollections may very”, as stated by Buckingham Palace. As Prince Harry is still a member of the Royal family and is in the line of succession, this organisation will of course continue its policy of respect and deference in support of our Royal family and Her Majesty, the Queen. The Society will again look to review its moratorium on reporting about The Duke and Duchess of Sussex in one years time.
