SenseMaker Live by Tortoise Media, sponsored by Santander featured the Society’s Founder, Thomas J. Mace-Archer-Mills, who appeared on a panel hosted by Tortoise Media on their Sensemaker Live series to answer the subject question of ‘How slimmed down should the royals be?’
Much debate has arisen recently, especially due to republican organisations, regarding the financing of the Monarchy and there has been a tremendous amount of misinformation. To put it simply, Thomas explains how the Monarchy is predominantly funded through the Crown Estate, an estate owned by the Crown, which generates profit that funds the treasury for the public more than it funds the Royal Family. Representing the British Monarchist Society, Thomas lays down compelling arguments throughout the discussion. Watch the panel discussion here.
