BMS in Mirror: Joy Morrissey MP demands a portrait of the Queen 'in every home

The Daily Mirror has featured The British Monarchists Society in a report about the Society’s latest campaign to celebrate her Majesty by creating a Head of State portrait scheme modelled after than of Australia and Canada. Joy Morrisey MP who is spearheading this initiative has received backlash for this campaign, as many without the facts of or outline of the scheme have accused her of tax-payer funded expense, which is not true.

Ms Morrissey said in a statement: “I am proud to be launching a national campaign with the British Monarchists Society to put a portrait of Her Majesty in every home, company and institution that would like one. “It’s time to rediscover our pride in being British.” She added in a tweet: “I think this is a wonderful, patriotic and unifying campaign for our country. I will be writing to the Prime Minister to ask him to give it careful consideration and looking for opportunities to discuss further in Parliament.” READ THE FULL ARTICLE HERE
